What’s Different About Pee-wee’s Big Adventure On Dvd?

I saw that Pee-wee’s Big Adventure was released to DVD on November 4. But didn’t this already come out in ’06? Why would they re-release it? Also, it says on Amazon that the movie is HEAVILY edited, apparently on BOTH DVD versions. What was cut out, and why? Finally, do the cuts ruin the flow of the movie?
