Ever Read Jim Morrison’s Adventures In The Afterlife?

If you have, did you like it? I just ordered it off amazon…it looked amusing to me. I’ve also been wanting to read something from Mick Farren for a while now. If you haven’t read this particular book, what have you read by him? Was it any good?

I haven’t read the whole thing, but I have read the part they allow you to on amazon. My first thought was it was really weird but could be interesting. I have heard from other people that read it and they seemed to like it too. I think some people take it too seriously and expect it to be all about Jim, or a realistic account of him, but that doesn’t seem to be the type of book that this is. Someone said it was a “chick book” which doesn’t really make sense because I don’t even think I would buy it, but I guess everyone has different personalities and interests.
It is supposed to be “hilarious” if you don’t take it too seriously, so I guess I am too serious for it. Maybe you got it by now? If so tell me how it is :)

If you enjoy a Dantesque (The Divine Comedy) or Fellini-like plunge into phantasmagoria, revelry, debauchery, and hallucininated discourse and imagery then -by all means- you’ll get a charge out of Adventures in the Afterlife
P.S. I saw Morrison and the Doors back in the mid-sixties for $1.25 just before “Light My Fire” lit their celebrity … he was a special one.
