I have this tent and it took on the high winds of the Anza Borrego Desert just fine. Not a lot of flapping noise. Stayed strong all night. I had myself, my dog and a bunch of gear and Jeep parts in it. The tent provided a warm spot in a cold wind. The next morning it was shedding rain. Remember: the floor and the tent body are not sewn together. Just buckled. Check your boots and bed for scorpions and snakes. Two doors give this thing great ventilation and access.

Get rid of the central pole and it falls down. I have this tent and the pole is not really an issue.

get rid of the centre pole and it might be usable, old fashioned having a centre pole in the way.

Nice design I think I’d buy it. It looks like it could be a good winter tent. If they put in a stove pipe hole and offer a small collapsible wood stove then it would be complete The windows wouldn’t let the wind through. As for the center pole you could eliminate it if you can find two long saplings and tie them at the top, tie the top of the tent to them and raise both sapling poles up and brace at each side of the tent. The poles dig in and will support the tent. Nice design.

Yea and I bet that cold metal pole will feel real good when your naked butt brushs up against as your getting busy with your ol’lady at 2 in the morning. That not even metioning the fart factor. All that methane trapped and concentrated in the center like some death cloud just waiting for you to seat up in the morning. LOL

this is NOT a tipi in any way….it is a tent based on a conical desighn. Sybley Civil war tent is more like it.
